When asked to recommend their favourite rare and unusual pairings the crew at Zendom came up with the following list – and what a list! Just look at what we’ve served up for you! Mr Wickham and Mr Darcy? Deanna Troi and Kira Nerys? Who writes this stuff?

Wow, so much room for error with this pairing, huh? The magic is that Hth has GOT Dru's voice down cold. It's brilliant, and the way Tara and Dru's voices mingle right into the utter chaos of the ending is great. Is it any surprise that Dru would be interested in Tara, now that she's out of her shell? Hth makes you want to say, "No surprise at all."

Take the Town by Twinkledru J. – Willow/ Dru

Short and sweet. I love Drusilla, probably too much, so that's what drew me to this one. Twinkledru J. writes a lovely vamp-Willow, and the idea that Dru sired her is tantalizing. It's a tiny piece, but it's spot on, and the pairing would make it worth it, even if this wasn't so much fun.

Three Planets Left of Risa by August – Janeway/ Neelix

At points, this fic is so complex it's difficult to follow, but that's fine, because the feelings it's following are just as difficult and complex. Only a few, slightly crazy, writers have ever done Janeway/Neelix, and none so successfully, allowing him room to blossom out of the Standard Buffoon the writers were so eager to make him into. There's hardly anyone genuinely likeable here, but that's part of its charm, I'd say.

They've barely had a scene together, so this is subtext from seriously nowhere, but still. Teanna's got it going on here. Power is a beautiful thing.

One of the best pieces of ScullySlash I've ever read. Scully and Miss Parker are never wrong for a single beat, a single piece of dialogue. Though this is probably one of the simpler crossovers to imagine, and though Hth does set up a few situations where you just sort of have to suspend disbelief, you never once believe that there's anything false about what's going on between Scully and Miss Parker, which is the real triumph of this piece.

The wonderfully cool Clayton Webb gets Josh Lyman out of a gay bar before he can embarrass himself or the White House, Josh comes on to him, and they go back to Webb's place... and that's just the beginning. There's hot sex, and it's all believable and sweet in a smart way.

Now, not spending enough time reading popslash, I have to assume that this is a small genre. I know there's some Brit/Christina or Brit/Mandy, but mostly Brit's with the boys. This is the kind of story you can appreciate even if you don't dig popslash, because it's so real and so incredible, and while there is some Brit/Justin, there's enough Brit/other to make it fit this category. And it's in 2nd person. There's got to be a prize for that.
